There is a beautiful, relatively new, antiquities wing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I had the pleasure of going there last fall, on a bright, sunny day. What is wonderful about the new wing is that there is an abundance of natural light illuminating the objects. And while normally, looking at ancient objects in dimly lit cases gets kind of boring after a while, a dose of sunlight makes all the difference.
I was reminded of that day when I saw the lovely selection of rings at Ylang23. The imperfect, organic, and artisanal quality of each of these is a purely timeless luxury. And while they are expensive, less is more....elegant, sparkling, and simple. I can see wearing any of these, with no other jewelry, and feeling like it is enough.

Ah, yes....so very gorgeous. I too can see how wearing just one would be enough. So classy....

I love all the ancient jewelry I see at museums, it seriously makes me want to break into the case and run away with it. These pieces are beautiful!
