Morning all!...Or should I say...Good Evening... Because, as a wonder of good planning, I am actually *pre* posting this, the night before you are reading it. What prompts such pre-emptive prescience? Well I'll tell you...Take a trip back to the future with me...
Now, I read the blog Fly on a pretty regular basis. It's one of my favorite blogs, and as bloggers go, it's author, Philly-based Andrea is absolutely top notch...incorporating everything from weekly features, to video webisodes, in a way that feels totally focused, yet really fun. It's a very, very inspiring place. And her content-- well, I always know I'm going to have my eyes opened to something new at Fly
So, it's a real thrill to be showing some of her personal work here today. Which I found through twitter yesterday, and will still be thinking of, tomorrow. (Is all this time travel getting confusing yet?) Really, I don't think a poster series could get more perfect-- and I love how the heart shape of the lips and dark brown background are points of continuity in each of these classic yet contemporary statements on what it means to let your hair do it's natural thing.
I love the multi-faceted approach that Andrea takes with her blog. There's so much exploration and creativity, and enthusiasm to all sides of Fly. Just by showing off all those talents, it makes a very...ahem...marketable... statement about Andrea as a creative person. IMHO she could do anything from having her own TV show, to art directing comissioned window displays at Saks ...to making a living by creating simple, signature images that just bring joy to all who see them. It's really inspiring to see someone doing so much, so well.

I love Andrea's prints. I think they would be great as posters, cards or tshirts.... Basically they would look great on anything. :)
