To me, Kat Hayes is an illustrator and artist in the tradition of Alphonse Mucha or even Egon Schiele. There's a delicious languor in her line. While I love the more girly, commercial style that she's so good at, these are a great, new exploration. The simplistic treatment creates a really dramatic silhouette that uses the white space and color on the page in a really compelling way. I'd love one of these, huge, hanging in my house (say, life size?)
