Do you know that if you look up "Doily" on etsy, you get almost 10.000 search results?
Anyway, it can't be denied, we like our lace, and our intricately pretty things.
I have been so busy lately, and having a design-centered business means that when I am designing, generally it is with a goal in mind. But looking at these detailed pieces reminds me that sometimes the act of creating something can be it's own reward.
I really love looking at the letter A on the top left - maybe because it has an element of process and isn't "done". To me, it's more compelling than the fully cut one. Do you see what I mean? Or is it just me?
Letter A - view all the papercut stages here
City Sayings - my pick is "MIND THE GAP" this artist is on vaction - but worth checking out here
Rubber stamp doilies - check out how they used these with permanent white ink on a clear bag - cool! here and here
Handmade stamps - love the way she labels each handle - here
That key stamp is too great!

These are Stunning! I can't get enough of the intricate beauty
of doilies and lace. I have to agree on the "A" - it's compelling even
before it's finished with it's strong graphic quality. I could just look
through designs like these for hours..... Thanks for sharing!

Yay! Happy you all liked this post. I was totally taken with that big, "incomplete" letter A. I love the idea of the flowers just emerging out of the black paper...
And when I was little I collected rubber stamps and even gave a little report on how to use them in my 4th grade class!!! Even then, I just loved the whole idea of crafting and making things...but rubber stamp designs have come such a long way. I also love these designs.
