Morning Everyone!
I've been taking a hiatus from blogging for a bit, since so much is going on in terms of my business. As I mentioned a while ago, I've been in the midst of some big internal changes... the result of which should give me more time to be a designer again (instead of a professional packing tape handler!)
I thought these studs were absolutely perfect - what a fun way to incorporate a spontaneous twist - I like the thought of these peeking out from behind a short haircut!
Okay, first things first - please disregard the patterns on these bags! There were no textiles that really did it for me, anywhere I looked. That being said... I'd love to create an updated Bermuda Bag collection...with designs I'd actually want to carry. No offense, just that I love the reference, but not the preppy preference.
This bag was originally created as a McCall's sewing pattern in the late 70's or early 80's and really caught on. I remember desperately hoping my neighbor would accidentally put her's in my box of hand-me downs.
This shop has quite a selection - I prefer pearl buttons on my bermuda bag, tho
You could also maybe send a custom fabric to this person.

I love the piece at the top - how great is that heavy, braided chain?
Perhaps the piece I find the most interesting isn't seen here - it's in their shop- a harness-style necklace underneath a white shirt - what an interesting, sexy look! Seriously, go take a peek, and then let me know what you think. Wearable, no?

Fell in love with this shot at the top which was in T magazine this weekend - I love the choice of a model with such a fleshy face for this dress- it's atypical. This shot looked even better in print.
I loved the sort of meditative, introspective quality this little collage of inspirations brought to me.
I guess I'm tired of the hot weather - ready for fall and the smell of wet ground, dead leaves, and cool air again.
A combination of textures, shapes, thoughtful, woodsy detail - just reminds me to keep seeking, seeking.

I really never thought about it, but the blue in a ballpoint pen, which we are so used to seeing, is very close to the blue in Delft porcelain. I love the idea of re-purposing the ballpoint look, but still seeing that signature (pardon pun), hand-drawn, chicken-scratchy, look.
I would LOVE to see a series of delft vases or plates done with faux-ballpoint pen, or faux-tapestry fabric done in this finish. I would also love to see wallpaper that was ornate, but looked like it was drawn with a blue ballpoint. Ironic, pretty, and clever.

Good morning everyone!
I know, I know, it's getting kind of pastel around here. I'll fix that in a couple of days. I saw this image last night and really enjoyed looking at it. There was something so tactile about these gloves - the smooth, ticking fabric, the little stitches. They look so...protective.
They're handmade, from the 1950's. Wow. Wow.
