There was something about the color and fit of this glamorous and feminine shirt from Laurel Wells, selling at Mighty Flirt....I love how it hugs all the curves, but is so restrictive and obscuring at the same time. I just watched The Maltese Falcon, and although none of the wardrobe really struck me individually, I loved how the main female character in it was so....well....covered. Don't know why but this blouse reminded me of the cut of her clothing...I also like how generous the designer was with the fabric...especially at the bust. There's almost a little too much of it...but not quite.
Also available at Mighty Flirt are the the cuffs by E. 9th St. and the bag by Myna. I love the combination of play and decor on the cuffs-- once again, here comes the colored lucite...I think these are both especially successful designs. And the bag is definitely worth seeing close up, it has a great combo. of texture and pattern....
The shoes are from eBay. For like 14 to 30 bucks, you can score some really cute 80's pumps in your size, in the Buy it Now section so you don't have to freak about checking an annoying auction...these are more comfortable than modern pumps (usually more padded than today's versions) and look sooo good on.
Irecently discovered Mighty Flirt and love a lot of the dresses they are showing especially the turquoise shift with the appliqued circles on the shoulder. It is beautiful and well designed.

Absolutely LOVE the cuffs – especially the horses – there is a quite juxtaposition of haute style and kitsch – love it!

I know...totally. Hey, you're a jewelry expert...what the heck IS lucite??? I realize now I have no idea, but it's all over the place right now.

Susan - really and truly it's a type of plastic - it made a huge impact on the furniture design scene in the 1960's and again in the Post Modern movement - think Stark's Ghost Chair - but it is big in the jewelry industry as well and has been since the 60's. Most often (in furniture as well as jewelry) it will be clear - but it can be injected with color as well!

ohhh....I wasn't sure! The name makes it sound like it could be a type of mineral or something! So that's what I always thought, even though that didn't make a lot of sense...
