Thank Heavens for Fred Flare!
Yes, it's true that at 31, there are many items on this site that I cannot wear even on my most ironic of days, but, I do LOVE these 3 picks for adding just a little dose of the ironic geek into my life...Well, normally I wear my ironic hipster on the inside, but I can also handle sporting a pair of notebook slip on sneakers. The only thing I'm thinking is that these would be even cooler if somewhere they had the 3 holes actually punched through....Maybe if they were white leather, that would be possible. I would ALSO love it if these came with a fabric pen so you could do your own doodles on them....any chance of that?
As for the librarian pin, I'm getting one. I actually worked in the town library for ALL of high school. And it often strikes me as strange that the defininition of 'cool' has changed so much that now I say that with pride.
The computer cake case is just plain fun. I love the idea of the word 'Computer' spelled out in frosting.
yaaay!
You know, it's funny, I used to work in a gift-store here in Boston, and I remember Fred Flare's first foray into retail....a set of little notecards with 4 circles on them...well, it's great to see how far they have come. And it's great to see them selling the work of some fun, indie companies like Jill Bliss or Heavy Rotation in there....it's a well-curated site of modern novelty items....I like to think of it as Spencer Gifts for hipsters, or dipsters, or whatever.
We all have an inner geek hiding somewhere. Loving the shoes!

I know....the notebook shoes are one of those 'I wish I'd thought of that" things. Also equally cool, somewhere I saw a notebook print T-shirt...which one might be able to make with a ruler and some fabric markers... if one was veeeery careful!
