Hello hello. Lovely morning here in NYC...and I'm posting early because I have lots to do today!
I wanted to share some work by Thayer Allyson Gowdy; who I had the pleasure of meeting a few weekends ago, when I participated in a photo shoot in Brooklyn. The day was a lot of fun, and while I was kind of anxious about getting my picture taken (not the most photogenic person in the world, and very twitchy) Thayer quickly put me at ease and, like the mood of many of her photos, the day felt like a fun session with friends, rather than an exercise in trying to look 'right'.
When I got home, I made sure to look up her website- and found so many lifestyle, interior, and on location images I loved that it was hard to figure out which ones to post here. You can go and have a look for yourselves-- which I highly recommend. But, one thing I wanted to point out is how much I like the healthy spirit that comes through in Thayer's work. There's a really fun, vigorous beauty in her images-- a mood of exploration that resonates with me. I also like that her work has a real sense of place at the same time, which helps it to feel real. It's refreshing to see images of beauty that feel so well crafted-- but still hopeful, healthy and more importantly, achievable.
