PRODUCT PEEKS!

Hi Everyone!

Just popping in to share some fun news with you... a new product peek, and a look at our spring promo postcard!

Designing this postcard was so much fun, and I'm really happy with the way it turned out. I started with the idea to take a "nice" photo of product... but this is where I ended up. I really like that this has a slightly more provocative feel than the usual stationery-paper fare. I like that it's a little bit call-to-action, a little bit of humor, and a little bit about current events... to me, it just seems contemporary!

Another peek at a few of our banks was launched on our Facebook page yesterday, to a really nice response. I'm thrilled...and excited!

Well, I know I said I was going to break with normal blog schedule this week, and so I've been busy busy getting things organized. And frankly, I feel a little selfish just disappearing like that.

Anyway, I've been doing some last minute work on my next patterns and designs... and as a little fun yesterday, I made this card for you. Not really for any reason. Just because.

Well, I suppose it's because you read along with me. And that means a lot to me! For all who have been so supportive about the new things coming at Susy Jack*, I made this for you!

ME ME ME { spring biz news }

Hi Everyone -

This week, there will be a bit of a break with my "normal" blogging schedule since things are heating up as I launch my new products for spring. So...hopefully, I will be able to offer some sneak peeks and share some of what is going to happen in the very near future.

Last week, I had a really fun photo shoot for some new ad and postcard concepts I've been working on, and it went really well. I can't wait to get them back from my printer and send them out. This week, I'll be putting semi-finishing touches on my catalog and finishing up plans for my booth at the New York show.

Over the weekend, I made up a few samples of some new Paper Garland Kits that I'll be launching... these are a few of the designs. It will be great to have another wall decor element in my line, outside of my calendars. More on these in a bit!

I hope you'll stick with me as I get ready for what I hope will be an amazing kick-off into the next year for me, and for my business.

DAILY CRAVE { petits mots }

Hello! (or should I say, Bonjour!)

I came across this new line of pillow designs from Hazel and Hunter on Etsy... and I just love the playful spirit and rather punk rock asthetic of these pillows. Simple words are powerful words. Especially when they are... en Français. A long time ago, I did a "Je T'aime" card as part of my first collection...and it's always been one of my favorite designs.

Personally, I think the Oui and Non pillow set could be verrry useful. But, I would MOST love to have A COUCH JUST OVERFLOWING WITH OUI's...that would be such a great piece of decor.  So if you see that happen somewhere, I thought of it first.

Anyway, they are available here... along with a few more wonderful bright designs.

LIKE WITH LIKE { camper twins }

In keeping with the floral theme of this morning's post... I thought these shoes were perfect! They kind of match Mrs French's glowing photos...

And, a good illustration of what I was talking about in terms of shoe-shape here...

I have a pair of Twins from.... yikes, it must be about 6 or 7 years ago! And I still wear them...and they have lasted and still look great. Brown suede boots with vines crawling up...

These are like Easter for your feet - and I just adore the whole Camper line...the whole experience and brand. They do such a great job with it. There are also some great new oxford twins with a gorgeous, slim shape...

It's worth checking out all the shoes at their site.
And you didn't hear it from me, but these are probably the most flattering, walkable sandle out this spring/summer.

DAILY CRAVE { glowing color }

After a very, very dismal, abysmal March, it's been so great to wake up to brighter weather, lately... and April always brings me an uptick in energy, as I'm sure it does with lots of people.

I've had these images in my archive for a few weeks, now...and have been waiting for just the right day to post them.

I fell in love with their light and color, which are just right. I look at these photos, and I literally feel refreshed, renewed! ...I think I might be part bee.

DAILY CRAVE { paper in bloom }

Hello everyone!

I was really taken by these large handmade paper bouquets...I love how full they are, and the proportions of large and small blooms are perfect.

Created by artist Whether Paperworks, who recommends them for weddings, cake toppers, pomanders, and boutonnieres, you can pick your own paper (eco friendly!) - meaningful poems, sheet music of your favorite song... wallpaper you love...whatever, and when you're done with the ceremony, you have a gorgeous piece of meaningful art that will endure. Personally, I think a bouquet of handpicked memories would also make a great, non-wedding gift for someone special.

Whether's own wedding bouquet (over 10" wide) was made of vintage National Geographic magazines...I know I'd use old punk rock flyers... What would you use?

DAILY CRAVE { n.d.c. loafers }

Good morning, all!

As some of you know, I am a bit of a loafer connoisseur. These just spoke to me. Even though I know it's probably pointless to dwell on the minutiae of why, I'll just say it has to do with the toe shape. This is *the* shape I look for in shoes. Not too round, not too pointy. Not too low-cut. Not too restrictive. Roomy enough, but with a low profile.This toe shape just has it. Always has, always will.

TRUE HUE { Phillip Low }

So...I wanted to give a colorful send-off into the weekend, this Friday... Tell me, have I done it?

Last but certainly not least in my series of color-inspiration posts today is the gorgeous artwork of Phillip Low. To me, these feel so right now. The amazing sense of observation...the organic meeting the linear and architectural...the interpretation of color blocking (hot fashion catchphrase of the mo) but in a more meaningful way. I love the way these renderings take me INTO the prism.

Trust me, this is just a taste, the larger images are well worth seeing...
