Here is a poem my mom gave me over the weekend that I thought you might enjoy. It is about something very simple, and simply expressed, but It made me think.
When I was a kid, my mom would come and wake me up at about 3 in the morning to go look at the stars. I would wake up and think she was nuts. But out I would go. Now, I am so glad she made me look. The sky has changed because of us, and it is not as dark at night, and you can't see as many, anymore. But I remember how it used to look, and I'm happy to be one of the people who was able to see that.

Working to get calendars out to the printer today... and press releases sent for the winter. More news on new designs to come. I'm very happy to see that the little snippet I posted on facebook got some nice comments and likes. I've been working really hard, so that feels good.
i just wanted to tell you how much i enjoyed this poem. i have never read it before.
it is just such a lovely thing to read this today, my husband of 25 years told me for the first time two days ago that his high school math teacher called him during the summer to tell him to go outside and see the northern lights! they rarely made an appearance in missouri and he didn't want my husband to miss it, isn't that awesome. i just emailed this post to him because he is sailing from san diego to catalina island with his brother and our son, i think he will love it too and enjoy those stars more for me.
thank you for inspiring me!! thank you for your lovely free cards. ♥ ♥

Hi Vicki,
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment. You know, it's funny, when I post poems, they get very few comments... yet when I post a picture of a shirt or something one can buy...comments galore.
Yet, I post the poems because I know there are people out there who will understand, and I hope, be as inspired and refreshed by them as I am... you have really given me a gift with your comment, and something happy to think about.
It sounds like you have quite the family! Such adventurers! And, I'm so pleased to hear you enjoyed the card enough to give it to your daughter... I am also very close to my mom, and she often gives me little treats, just to show she cares. It makes a lovely difference in my life.

Hey Suze,
Happy Belated Birthday to you. I loved the poem & where I live I am lucky enough look up into the sky and get completely absorbed in the beauty of the stars. There is a wonderful website called "the night sky" that is an excellent resource to check out to find out what's going on up there! You should come out to Snug Harbor and check the amazing night sky.
Yours Truly,
